Building Thinking Classroom

Help me give my students the opportunity to collaborate with students at the whiteboard. My hope with white boards is that each student will be engaged and work with the randomized groups each day to complete a task

My Project

The students I have are eager to learn Math but they are so use to sitting at their desks and taking notes and working out problems out of workbooks. My goal in asking for these white boards is to build a thinking classroom. It is based off a book called Building Thinking Classrooms by Peter Liljedahl.

Not take notes but solve a real life problem from Open Up Resources for 9th grade.

The students will come in the room and I will hand them a randomized card and that is the group that they are a part of for that day. After I take roll, the students will go to their white board to work on the task for the day. I will use different techniques to make sure every student is involved in learning. It is also visible to everyone in the classroom instead of the workbook
