This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach second grade students in an inclusion classroom. This includes students with ADHD, speech and language disorders, autism and ESL. Every year I've watched my students face challenges both in and out of the classroom. Even with these struggles, they come to school everyday, ready to learn and always put their best foot forward! Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. Their determination and hard work is evident as they continue to grow everyday. You can help me by giving them the ability to read a variety of books. Reading the sunshine state books, among many other books, will allow them to further their reading abilities by giving them access to books they can read at their level.
My Project
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own level. They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences. You can help build their love for reading. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
