This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of the students who would benefit from this project have a desire to learn. Having these books gives them a sense of belonging when it comes to activities such as independent reading. We are a rapidly growing school of newcomers, therefore these books will not only benefit the ones who read them today, but also the ones who will read them for years to come. This is the start of building a bilingual mini-library for all readers!
I asked them what kind of titles they would like to see in the classroom library and these are some they requested. The smile on their face tells me all that I need to know about how important and impactful this project is.
