My Project

This project will help give my students access to technology and technology apps to help build foundational reading skills. With this technology, students will be able to solidify and cement their letter/sound correspondence, syllable blending and segmentation, phoneme manipulation, automatic word reading, and more through gaming apps. Some of the iPad apps available allow students to hear and manipulate sounds when building and reading word, which is paramount to their success as a beginning reader. The diverse array of resources available to students through technology empowers and encourages lifelong reading skills. One of the key benefits of technology in reading education is its ability to provide personalized learning experiences, offering students a personalized approach to foster a sense of ownership over their learning. Additionally, multimedia features such as audio narration, interactive illustrations, and video supplements enhance comprehension and engagement, particularly for struggling readers or English language learners. By utilizing the power of technology, we can empower our students to become competent, confident readers who will be successful in the digital age and beyond.
