This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The purchase of the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D printer will service the needs of at least two groups of students within our school. First, to ensure that students in robotics are able to compete effectively while participating in First Tech Challenge (FTC); they will utilize the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon to 3D print student-designed parts that will allow their robot to maintain a competitive edge during the robotics season. Second, students who are participating in art production class will investigate and create 3D printed objects as part of the class. Designing real-world useful objects with an emphasis on artistic representation.

Many schools of First Tech Challenge, which was established by FIRST Robotics, has over 90,000 participants and over 6,000 teams worldwide taking place in robotics each year.

Of those multitudes of teams, many are supported by generous donations from large companies, however, smaller schools such as ours which service a unique population tend to get overlooked. However, being able to secure an advanced 3D printer such as the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon, will allow our robotics students the ability to design, test, and fabricate parts that will ensure they are able to be competitive with other teams that take part in FTC. All the while working with and developing an understanding of the latest technology available in society today.

In addition to robotics students, the Bambu Lab X1 Carbon 3D printer will be robust enough to handle additional use by students who are enrolled in art production. During their time in this class, students will design real-world objects that are utilized in society but contain an artistic flair. In so doing, they will develop an increased understanding of real applications through the process of creating, design, production, and marketing.
