Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a spirited bunch of sprightly sprats who are inquisitively energetic learners, and many are not native speakers of English.

My students are inquisitive, energetic, eclectic, global learners needing resources to help them gain a love of reading and establish a culture of literacy at our campus.

Pre-existing lower-income and socio-economic demographics are considerably aggravated by language and cultural barriers. Nevertheless, students are eager to learn and divest themselves of previous woes. This funding opportunity will help supply some resources and bolster equitable access to education that connects them to a global community of learners free from linguistic barriers.

As a dedicated, technology-oriented educator, I merely seek resources to support students in such a direction to diverse the learning process and opportunities.

My Project

I am requesting diverse and inclusive books to help grow our library, and our students' understandings of the world in which they live. Libraries are an inclusive and heart of any school campus, and this project help the library to grow resources that empower students to learn about their world with stories that are diverse, open, and embracing of the 21st century learners.

Please help our small school library develop a collection that helps students learn about the world they a part of by contributing these resources to broaden and diversify their perspectives and worldview.

Increasingly, books featuring diversity and inclusivity are challenged that promotes censorship, and limits student access to comprehensive narratives and perspectives. This project works to better and inform young adults for being well-informed, emergent citizens of our society.
