Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are energetic, curious, and love learning through movement. They thrive when given the opportunity to be active and work together. Many of them come from diverse backgrounds and don't always have access to recreational equipment outside of school. At school, we try to provide opportunities for physical activity that are inclusive and fun for everyone, no matter their athletic ability.
I'm requesting a set of cornhole boards and bean bags to bring a new, engaging activity to our physical education program and recess options.
Cornhole is more than just a fun game—it's an excellent way for students to practice hand-eye coordination, teamwork, and strategic thinking. It’s easy to learn, non-contact, and can be enjoyed by students of all skill levels and abilities, including those with physical limitations.
This equipment will be used during gym class, as well as at recess, indoor activity days, and school-wide events like field day. It promotes active play, provides a great option for students who prefer non-competitive games, and helps develop fine and gross motor skills in a low-pressure environment.
