Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach special education students in a Title I school. These students are currently, on average, at least 2 grade levels below their peers. They need materials that are hands-on and engaging to reach their full potential in Reading Foundational skills and Reading Comprehension. They are hard workers and want to read but because of their various learning disabilities they need extra support. Both of these skills align with the Nevada State Standards.
Additionally, my 3rd grade students who are learning Multiplication and Division skills need these hands-on learning materials to practice these skills and understand the relationship between multiplication and division which is a 3rd grade math standard.
