Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I absolutely love how curious, kind, and resilient my students are. As bilingual learners, they come to school with rich language and cultural backgrounds that deserve to be celebrated and supported. My students are eager to learn, but many need visual and organizational tools to help them build confidence in reading and writing—especially as they prepare for the academic demands of upper elementary grades.
Each resource in this project was chosen with their success in mind.
The vocabulary offices will give them access to words, pictures, and sentence starters that support writing across subjects. The folders, index cards, and dry erase sets will help organize their thoughts and allow them to practice at their own pace. The classroom mailbox and doorbell will build responsibility and help with smooth transitions. And the digital clock will support time management—an important step toward independence.
As a first-year second grade teacher, I want to create a space that makes every student feel seen, capable, and ready to take on new challenges. These materials will help me do just that.
