My Students

My students are active kindergartners that come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Many of my young learners face different challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite their challenges and differences, they enjoy coming together and learning new things.

My students are explorers, builders, inventors, scientists, artists, readers, authors, and most importantly children, children who are filled with energy and a love for learning.

I desire for all my students to be able to learn through a motivating, engaging, and real-world environment. I love the joy these young children have for learning, and I want to provide them with as many different resources as possible. My hope is to foster an environment where each young child that enters my classroom feels the freedom to embrace who they are as they discover a whole new world of learning.

My Project

My classroom is filled with diverse learners who are working to navigate this new way of learning! My goal is to provide books that I can read aloud, including chapter books, in order to build foundational literacy skills. Many of the books included in this project provide an opportunity for students to practice making choices as we read. Along with the books requested, I would like to add magnet letters and sight word steps in order to strengthen my students word fluency which will help them become strong independent readers!
