Building Strong Minds in the Library

My Students

The students at my elementary school are hard-working, motivated students who love to learn and explore in the library. My school is a Title I school which consists of students in grades PreK-5th grade. My school also hosts many special needs programs, including programs for students with specific behavioral needs and mental and physical handicaps. Hands-on, meaningful learning is key to learning with all students, but especially those who may not get these opportunities at home. Donating to my project will mean the world to so many of my students!

My Project

I am a librarian in a Title I school, and am looking to engage our students in exciting ways. As our Covid restrictions ease up, I would love to get our school library's Makerspace up and running and give students opportunities to build and create in the library, allowing them to use their engineering skills in a safe, encouraging place.

Play-Doh, magnet blocks, and straws with connectors will allow students to build, explore and engineer in ways they couldn't before.

I can't wait to have them collaborate together to see where their imaginations will take them!

By giving to this project, you will truly make a difference for all students at my school from preschool-5th grade, reaching students of all abilities. We hope you will consider donating to this special project!
