Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are eager learners that will be learning online or face to face.
I serve many special needs and ELL students in my class that feel they are different and don't have a voice.
I want them to know they can achieve anything in life when they set their minds to it. These kids are very loving and special and deserve the best. They look forward to me challenging them to stretch their thinking capacity and becoming more vocal and confident. Although this year will be a challenging year, my students can benefit from math and science toolboxes to help with maneuvering through with a clear mind. Many families are not able to obtain the necessary tools for online learning as well as face to face. I am teaching a blended class this year and it will be challenging for us all and if they can have the tools needed for success it would help a great deal.
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are a necessary tool for learning. In other words, it will help to give students immediate feedback online and in the classroom. We just need your help in getting everything through our door! The table and wireless keyboard and mouse will be used in the online setting to be easily accessible when teaching virtually. The unifix cubes, dominoes, and whiteboards will be distributed to the students so that they can gain a hands-on experience when learning about place value and other math skills in our school district curriculum for second grade students. All donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful math skills.
By supplying students with the needed materials for online learning it will help with coordinating and illustration of place value, as well as getting the full effect of classroom experience.
We will use these materials to aid us in the process of becoming life-long mathematicians. As the teacher, I have learned that some students learn better with hands-on experience that aids in one to one coordination. Yet I truly need your support to make this a reality as we venture this year in face to face and virtual learning to keep our students safe.
