This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Children learn by doing. Most students leave the blocks behind when they leave Kindergarten and dive right on into the world of reading, writing, and math. I feel it is important for my students to use some time each day to continue experimenting with shapes, as well as varied spatial components so that they are able to move forward in their STEAM education. Being able to go from basic building blocks to solar robots will afford them opportunities to use what they are learning academically and apply it to STEAM projects that could end up leading to future careers.
