This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in various low-income schools in Reno, Nevada ranging from preschool to middle school. Most of my kids are autistic with a variety of needs. All of them love engaging in hands on projects! I love to watch them learn and want to provide them with a variety of activities that will support their growth and help them succeed.

My Project

I am not given funding for therapy materials, so these donations will be very impactful! Individual students will benefit from gross motor and sensory items to help with regulation so that they are more ready to learn. Various hands-on games will help develop vocabulary, social skills, grammar, and increase problem solving/safety. The GoTalk is a device that will be used for my non-verbal students to help them communicate wants/needs within the classroom and to increase expressive language skills. The Quizmo language arts series will be used to increase student vocabulary, literature skills, and overall communication.

My students are motivated to learn and I can't wait to get them some supplies to help them have fun while doing it!

All supplies will be used in various classrooms grades 1-8. Thank you so much for your help!
