This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are curious, creative, and eager to learn through hands-on experiences. They thrive when engaging in activities that develop real-world skills and promote teamwork. These opportunities allow them to connect learning with practical applications, fostering confidence and critical thinking.
To celebrate the Lunar New Year and enhance instruction, I am requesting a toolset to bring hands-on learning into our classroom.
The toolset will include screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, wrenches, and other essential tools. These tools will be used for STEM-related projects and practical lessons that emphasize problem-solving, collaboration, and craftsmanship.
The Lunar New Year represents renewal, growth, and preparation for the year ahead. By incorporating tools into our activities, students will engage in meaningful projects such as repairing classroom items, constructing simple models, and exploring engineering concepts. These activities will connect them to the values of care and responsibility central to Lunar New Year traditions.
This toolset will empower students with valuable life skills while celebrating the themes of the Lunar New Year. It will encourage them to think critically, work collaboratively, and take pride in their accomplishments. Beyond the holiday, these tools will continue to enhance instruction throughout the year.
