My Students

My students are ready to learn and eager for what the day is to bring. Many of my students come from low-income families, and this is their first real experience at school. This is my first year teaching inclusion pre-k.

My kids start the year as eager, three to four-year-olds, ready to see what big school is all about.

The eighteen students in my pre-k class come from varying living circumstances, but they are all eager to learn. Many of these students are from single-parent households or living with other relatives. For many of them, they come to school not knowing how to write their name or even identify the letters in their name. Instead, they come with their desire to learn and ready hugs and smiles as they embrace school and learning.

This year may be different as we strive to maintain social distancing but they are in person and ready to learn. In many cases, these students don't know how to share or how to express the emotions they are feeling. Despite this, they are eager to learn, explore, experience, and discover the world.

My Project

The sheets we have now are hard for the kids to put on themselves. They are also falling apart. These new sheets will help the students build responsibilities by being able to put them on themselves and take them off. It will also help with keeping things clean and organized with COVID because they can take them off daily and put in their cubbies.

These new sheets are easy to put on that students will be able to do themselves quickly.

It was also give us enough that should any fall apart or if they forget their blanket they can use the extras in place of their blanket so they are not cold.
