This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials requested will directly support students' emotional and social growth by providing interactive and creative tools that enhance self-regulation, problem-solving, and collaboration. These resources aim to create an environment where students feel safe to explore their emotions, reflect on their experiences, and build essential life skills. By engaging with activities like coloring, word searches, puzzles, games, and journaling, students will strengthen their ability to manage stress, work through challenges, and collaborate with others—key elements of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL).
The primary goal of this project is to foster emotional resilience and self-awareness among students, helping them develop a positive mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
The journals will guide them in setting personal goals and reflecting on their growth, while games like UNO and Connect 4 will encourage social interaction and emotional regulation through healthy competition. Puzzles and LEGO building will enhance problem-solving abilities, patience, and perseverance. Together, these activities will provide a diverse set of tools for students to practice emotional intelligence and critical thinking.
What makes my students special is their diverse backgrounds and unique challenges. Many face significant stress and uncertainty in their daily lives, and creating a safe, supportive space for emotional and social development is essential to their success. They are creative, thoughtful, and eager to learn, but they often need additional support to build the emotional resilience necessary to thrive academically and personally. This project will empower them to not only improve their emotional well-being but also develop the confidence and skills needed for future success.
