My Project

Board games build communication skills. Board games can help children with special needs. Board games teach children how to follow instructions. Board games help children learn to fail. Board games create healthy competition. Board games help children understand how others think. These are just a few benefits of playing board games. I would like to give my students an opportunity to strengthen these skills and enjoy learning at the same time with Jenga, Connect 4, and Trouble.

Many students know how to play video games.

But, most of them do not know how to play classic board games. I would like to give my students an opportunity to learn how to play classic board games, where they can gain social skills and learn to be competitive. Playing board games is a simple way for children to get quality, screen-free time with friends.

Participation with peers using board games promotes problem-solving, both individually and as part of a team, while also developing social skills and fostering collaboration all while being “unplugged” from technology.
