Building Reading Stamina in a Resource Room Setting

Help me give my students the reading foundation that they deserve by donating new books for my reading library.

My Project

Exposure to books is so critical in developing reading skills as well as a love of reading. I am asking for new books for my students to help them build their reading stamina's. I work in a low-income distract and it is essential that when my students come to school, they have the opportunity to participate in a reading rich environment. If children are to read throughout the school day, they will need a plethora of books to choose from. The books I have chosen represent a variety of levels and interests. The benefits of this increased independent reading will lead to improved reading fluency and comprehension, developing a larger vocabulary, and improving spelling and grammar. This project will provide a much better result compared to simply drilling children with workbooks pages, copying definitions out of dictionaries and other monotonous activities that research has never shown to increase reading success.
