My Project
Decodable books are a wonderful way for my first graders to learn how to read and build their confidence. Decoding is an important skill we must teach.
Having a set of decodable books in our classroom will provide students with authentic opportunities to practice the phonics skills I am teaching.
We want students to practice looking at the letters and making every sound when reading, not just looking at the pictures. The use of these books forces readers to practice their decoding skills. Decodable texts have never been more important.
