This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a 14 year, 1st grade teacher falling in love with teaching again. I am here to ask for help to build the best science of reading based classroom to help develop strong readers. Elkonin boxes can be used at their desk with a simple printed piece of paper, but it does not create the same experience or engagement needed to excite students into learning the code of our English language. Having these magnetic elkonin boards and supplies will help keep my students close to be and be engaged as we learn to segment words into sounds and encode words to strengthen their reading and writing skills.
