Help me give my students handwriting paper, picture story handwriting paper, and primary pencils inorder to practice their writing skills in Reading Intervention.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from low economic backgrounds where their neighborhood is surrounded by negativity, crime, and violence. Somehow my students manage to come to school every day despite their current urban surroundings.
My school is a safe haven for all the children in the community where they can come and feel safe and know that each person in the building loves each of them whole-heartedly.
The majority of my students are more than two grade levels behind and need additional material in order to build them up to their rightful grade level. We currently have about 50% of our students who reside in homeless shelters nearby. Based on the current data, students require additional phonics practice to build them up to their current grade level.
My Project
My primary students will benefit from being able to use primary pencils, primary handwriting paper and primary story/picture hand writing paper inorder to help build on their letter formation inorder to build on their writing skills during reading intervention. Teachers and reading interventionist will be able to date stamp when and record students transitioning into writers through creating writing folders with each students writing work inside. Students will be able to practice writing daily with ease utilizing primary pencils during reading/writing block, reading intervention and all other core subject areas.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
