My Project
First graders love to have jobs each day. I give each one a job each week on a rotating basis. A big problem in our classroom is keeping the floor clean. By the end of each day, our floor is covered with broken crayons, small pieces of paper and pencils. We spend a considerable amount of time at the end of the day cleaning up.
Using a vacuum and a floor sweeper as part of a clean up crew would motivate my students to do a better job cleaning our classroom.
The use of this equipment would be fun for them. Any time you make sometime a job or fun the motivation increases exponentially. I am hoping through this project my students will build pride in their work and in our classroom. This will create children that strive to care for their environments and take pride in all areas.
