My Project

We are seeking funding to support the development and enrichment of an Architecture Center within our Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) art program. Our school is a Title I institution in a highly transient military town, with over 80% of students coming from low-income households and a significant population of English Language Learners. Despite these challenges, our students demonstrate remarkable creativity and include many who are academically gifted. The Architecture Center will provide a space where students can explore structure, design, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving through hands-on projects that connect art with STEM concepts. Items students will have available to build with will be linking logs, magnet tiles, Legos, connecting blocks and flakes, boxes, and clay.

To fully equip this center, we are requesting materials such as building blocks, foam boards, rulers, drawing tools, recycled materials, paper, glue, and other construction supplies.

These resources will allow students to engage in meaningful, self-directed learning experiences that foster both creative and critical thinking skills. By offering a structured yet flexible environment, the Architecture Center will empower all students—including those navigating language barriers or frequent school transitions—to collaborate, experiment, and express their unique ideas through the lens of architectural design.
