Building our Math Skills with DynaMath

My students need DynaMath magazines to encourage them to practice Common Core math concepts by applying core math concepts to exciting real-world stories.

My Students

My fourth grade students are enthusiastic children who are eager to learn. Many receive free or reduced price lunch at our Title I school in New York City.

Many of the students in my class are former or current English language learners, as well as students with disabilities.

Math is a challenging subject for many of them. Math involves much more than basic skills. My students struggle with reading, therefore, math word problems are very challenging for them. DynaMath magazines will provide them with motivating math activities that will allow them to practice their math skills, while enjoying learning.

My Project

By having DynaMath magazines for each of my students, they will be provided with countless opportunities to enhance their math skills. It is a wonderful resource to help each of my students meet the rigorous Common Core standards. DynaMath provides readers with unique problem-solving nonfiction which blends English Language Arts with math instruction to create a powerful cross-curricular tool. DynaMath includes real world articles which helps connect math with real world experiences, proving that math is needed in every day life. My students will have the opportunity to enhance their math skills daily, by using this engaging resource.

As an educator, my goal is to help each and every one of my students achieve academic and social success.

I want to be able to provide them with every opportunity to better themselves as learners and individuals. Math is an increasingly challenging subject. I hope that by having DynaMath magazines my students will take a higher interest in math, which will in turn help them meet the Common Core state standards.
