My Students

The students at our school are amazing! They come into the classroom excited to learn and become involved in whatever topic that is in the plan. We have wonderful support from our parents. We have a very diverse population of students, culturally, economically, and with different learning abilities. It has become my goal to try and stay ahead of them!

Our third-grade team is challenging our students to work independently and take charge of their learning.

This is a learning concept in itself, and we are guiding them along the way.

Our students are working hard to create a solid base of education. They appreciate what they have now, and they are learning to use their knowledge to take control of their education. We love to see their excitement grow as they are introduced to new information.

My Project

I actually have to say "put away your books" to many of my students. They sneak them out of their desks to read when they are supposed to be in centers or math!

Reading is very important to my current students, and I would like to build my library with a large variety of mentor texts.

The books I am choosing about polar explorers like Matthew Hansen. And a book about President John Adams will give my students experiences not only with biographies, but looking at details like characterization, main ideas, and themes. Other books, like the Koalas and John Adams (Junior Graphic Founding Fathers), are included to provide a variety of genres to explore.

Exposing my students to a large variety of books will help generate enthusiasm that can be found in the world of literature.
