Building Our Library Makerspace

Help me give my students key makerspace supplies to grow their STEAM skills.

My Students

I am the school librarian for a campus of three high schools in Brooklyn. For a decade, our campus had no library or librarian, and the space was left to fester. Now, I have been brought in to bring the space back to life once our renovation is done.

Our students are bright, hard-working, and in need of engaging material.

Now that we have a new library, we want to give our students the opportunity to learn meaningful skills in STEAM learning that will allow them to have the future they want.

My Project

This project focuses on supplies which will help to jumpstart our very own makerspace. Research shows time and time again that there are many benefits to students working on hands-on creative projects.

Focused upon in this project are button-making and stop-motion animation.

These are the projects students have expressed interest in working on in our new makerspace. There are also supplies for jewelry making and open-ended resources so students can explore what interests them.

This is a growing makerspace, and it would be amazing if you could help us acquire the supplies we need to take it from concept into reality!
