Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom you will find 33 unique, eager, and motivated students. Together, we have created a supportive and safe classroom environment where students challenge themselves to become better learners each day.

Our classroom is very diverse and students bring their own unique experiences to school every day.

About 1/3 of my students are English Language Learners with more than 4 different native languages spoken among them. All students in the school receive free breakfast and lunch every school day. My school is a Title 1 school, and with many of my students being at an economic disadvantage, they only get access to technology while in the classroom.

My Project

The document camera is an essential tool that will be used throughout the day in all content areas. This wonderful technology will allow for sharing student work samples and giving my students the chance to praise and encourage each other on a consistent basis, which is crucial for building a strong classroom community. The Chromebooks will be used in a variety of ways to help increase and maximize student learning. Students will be able to use the Chromebooks to extend their learning for their research writing assignments. Additionally students will also be given the opportunity to present their learning in a range of ways with applications such as Power Point and Prezi. They will also provide my ELL students the opportunity to enhance their English language by learning new vocabulary through digital research.

In our fast-paced ever-growing world, it is essential that students are gaining the skills they need to be successful in a competitive technological society.

This classroom technology will give my students the opportunity to learn these skills at an earlier age so they are prepared for secondary school, college, and the work field. With this technology in our classroom, students will be able to research more, create more, and most importantly, learn more.
