My Project

I’m a first-year PLTW Design & Modeling teacher working to rebuild a program that has been inactive for several years. Right now, our old 3D printers are broken, and my students don’t have access to the hands-on tools that make engineering come alive.

Our school is labeled a restart school, and opportunities like this for students are limited.

Many of my students have never had the chance to design something on a computer and then see it turn into a real object they can hold. A reliable 3D printer like the Bambu P1S would open doors for them giving them the opportunity to create, problem-solve, and build confidence through projects that show them they can succeed in STEM.

My students are also preparing to participate in a design challenge at NC State University, where they’ll compete against other middle school teams. Having a 3D printer will allow them to build real, functional prototypes instead of relying solely on cardboard, hot glue, and basic materials. This tool will help level the playing field and let their creativity and engineering skills truly shine.

Your support will help revive our program and give students meaningful, exciting experiences they would not otherwise have. This one tool will allow them to explore engineering, express creativity, and discover talents they didn’t know they had. Thank you for helping us give these students the opportunities they deserve.
