Building Our Classroom Library

My Students

Teaching and working with children is truly what I am passionate about. The children I work with are so incredibly resilient, bright and full of questions about the world. Creating relationships with these children are what truly makes being a teacher the most rewarding job there is.

My goal is to help children have a desire to be life long learners.

I want my students to be engaged, curious and happy. Creating an environment where they feel safe and loved is so fulfilling.

My Project

These materials will help to create a “book-rich” environment in our classroom that will encourage the students to read by tapping into their interests. Having access to books is a significant factor in early literacy development. Research shows that students in classrooms with high-quality classroom libraries read 50 percent more than students who do not have access to a library in the classroom. We want our students to get excited about reading and about the books in the classroom library. Having an engaging classroom library would allow me to present and display books in an enticing way which will encourage reading. With a growing classroom library, the buzz about books in our classroom will bloom!
