The past two school years have been challenging for students and educators. Covid-19 impacted students learning and growth as we shifted from face to face, distance learning, then to in person learning with social distancing and with face masks.
Students need social emotional learning (SEL) to help with self-awareness, responsible decision making, and opportunities to build our classroom community.
The resources requested in this project will be used help close the achievement gap, meet students SEL needs, and provide students shared learning experiences to build our classroom community.
These materials will help me support my students with building healthy and strong SEL Skills. There are several barriers that prevent my students from learning SEL skills and these materials will help me teach and support them!
The various art materials and resources from this project will be used to unfold SEL lessons and integrate current standards based units with art to provide students opportunities to strengthen their SEL skills and express themselves while building a sense of community in our classroom.
Students will benefit from ongoing SEL focused lessons. I will use these materials to strengthen existing SEL Skills during individual or one-on-one sessions, whole classroom lessons or in small groups.
