Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
LHS is an innovative project-based school in California. Our students are creative and love to learn by tackling real-world problems using professional tools and skills.
As part of our goal of graduating students who are ready to meet the challenges of today's world, we need standard lab equipment to create a biotechnology lab for our 11th graders.
The digital incubator and water bath will support bacterial and plant growth labs. We will test the effectiveness of soaps and sanitizers, we will genetically engineer bacteria to express a new gene, and we will experiment with plant growth under multiple conditions. This will all culminate in a final exhibition where students will showcase their Foods of the Future presentations!
