My Project
I love my students because they are creative, resilient, and full of potential. Whether they’re just beginning their musical journey or growing into confident performers, they show up ready to learn, support each other, and express themselves through music. What makes them special is not just their talent—it’s their determination, their joy, and the community they build together in our classroom.
To support their growth, we need a few key items that will directly improve our daily learning.
A bass drum stand will allow our percussionists to play with proper technique and stability, giving them the chance to shine during rehearsals and performances. The addition of a xylophone will expand our students’ access to melodic percussion, opening up new opportunities for learning about pitch, harmony, and ensemble playing. A supply of clarinet reeds ensures that every woodwind player can participate fully without worrying about access to basic materials—something that can be a barrier for families. And finally, new chairs and storage racks will help create a safe, organized, and professional rehearsal space where students can focus on making music together and take pride in their environment.
My goal for this project is to provide students with the tools they need to thrive—musically, socially, and emotionally. With these resources, we can focus more on growing as a group and less on making do with what we have. Every piece of equipment we add to our room is another step toward giving these amazing kids the music program they deserve.
