My Project
Music has the power to reach students in ways that words cannot—and my students are eager for that connection. I teach k-5 elementary music at a Title I school district where funding is limited, but my students are full of curiosity, creativity, and potential.
My students are truly remarkable—many come from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and arrive each day eager to learn and express themselves through music.
However, our limited access to instruments prevents them from experiencing the full benefits of a comprehensive music education.
By adding xylophones to our classroom, I can provide hands-on opportunities for my students to explore rhythm, melody, and musical expression in ways that support their emotional growth, fine motor skills, and academic engagement. Access to quality instruments not only enhances their music education, but also builds confidence, collaboration, and joy.
