My Students

The students in my class this year are all very creative kids! I have some serious artists in my class. They LOVE art and the different projects we have done so far in school. They love being able to express themselves or show what we are learning about in school. However, I would be limited to watercolors because that's all I have right now.

My classroom is full of very energetic, enthusiastic, and curious children.

They all come from a variety of backgrounds (ethnic, social, religious, etc.). I want to be able to provide them with as many experiences with art and creativity as I can!

My Project

My plan is to use these materials every day in the classroom with my students. I will use them as supplements, and materials in the lessons that I plan to help better teach number sense, geometry, measurement, and more. My students will use these manipulatives in different whole group lessons, small groups when needed, independent work, and centers.

I think that it is important for children to be able to actually see and experience math as opposed to just doing worksheets.

Children need to experience materials and concepts in order to better understand them. These materials and manipulatives will give them that opportunity.
