Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are vibrant, curious learners who thrive when given structured, hands-on learning opportunities. In our special education classroom, individualized instruction and differentiated materials are key to student success. To support their growth in math, I’m creating task boxes filled with engaging, interactive activities tailored to each student’s skill level. These boxes will help reinforce foundational math skills like fact fluency through repetition and independent practice.

These task boxes will not only provide individualized learning opportunities, but also help my students take ownership of their learning, feel successful, and grow their math skills at their own pace.

To build and maintain the boxes, we need essential supplies: a laminator and pouches to make materials durable and reusable, storage boxes to organize the activities by skill level, and cardstock to print high-quality activities. Math fact flash cards will support automaticity basic math facts, while magnetic fraction strips will provide visual, tactile tools to build a concrete understanding of fractions—something many of my students struggle with. These materials will create a structured, low-stress way for students to practice skills daily, fostering independence and confidence in math.

Your support will help us turn our classroom into a more engaging and accessible learning environment. Thank you for helping us create meaningful learning experiences that meet students where they are and help them move forward with pride.
