Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our sixth grade students are hard workers and are aspiring to great things. These students have been given a variety of opportunities provided to them through the charity of our community and our teachers on campus. While I have a homeroom of 30 children I do have the pleasure of knowing and working with the whole 6th grade levels.
These students are some of the hardest working kiddos I know.
I have really enjoyed getting to know them over the last few years. These students were my 3rd graders who have grown into my incoming 6th graders! (I graduated into 6th grade last year). I am eager to offer them the best chance at an incredible future!
My Project
I will use these resources daily to support students basic math fluency. My goal is to create a routine in which the students are being challenged daily through the application and discussion of math concepts that they may have difficulty understanding.
I plan to build basic fluency and understanding which will lead to a better understanding of tougher math concepts.
These books will allow growth and understanding in a group of students who have shown a great level of difficulty and need in their math skills. The goal is that the students will build a solid base as they move forward into tough algebra concepts through middle school and high school.
