Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
One of the most loved stations we have during ELA stations in my classroom is building time.
Blocks is a well loved station where students to practice their STEM skills, but this collaborative time with each other helps develop their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
My students need support in all of these domains because some of them do not go to preschool where this development starts. I strive to find any opportunity I can to bridge the gaps my students experience academically, socially, and emotionally.
We have 3 different types of blocks so far in the room, so we are able to rotate them throughout the year. Some of the blocks are getting to be well loved and have to go back on the shelf.
