Building Manipulative Area

Help me give my students manipulative toys that they can use and they can be creative as well as a carpet.

My Project

These manipulatives supplies will help pre-k students develop their small motor skills, spatial reasoning, problem solving and understanding of math concepts such as sorting, classifying, patterning and counting etc.. These materials will support students' language development while they interact with peers and discuss their creations and activities. Also, my classroom needs a rug so that they can sit safely and comfortably. This rug will help my students in early literacy because it will be designed with letters. The students will play, dance and play games on it. While doing these activities they will get exposure towards all the letters. On the rug we will do circle time and story time that will improve classroom management.

My goal is to encourage pre-k students to work collaboratively while promoting exploration.

This will allow students to learn at their own pace and in a way that fits their individual learning styles. While working together, they practice problem solving skills, sharing with each other, taking turns, and critical thinking.

My Pre-k students are special because they are creative, they have a huge imagination, and they are unique. These manipulatives materials will help students who are kinesthetic and visual learners. They can understand their relationships among objects and concepts. Also, these materials will help them put in order information and generate mental images that form their learning experience. Last but not least, manipulatives toys help students enhance their math concept and phonological awareness.
