Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Literacy centers are an important part of our curriculum that allows the teacher to work with a hand full of students to address and strengthen their needs one on one. While the teacher works with a specific group the other students work in groups at the centers building their writing, word play, comprehension and fluency. Tablets would provide a fun and engaging environment for students to listen and read along with their books, as well as to monitor their progress from week to week by recording themselves reading. Additionally, the tablets would provide support for students with learning disabilities and who are English Language Learners by being an alternative resource for them that is hands on. The two board games selected would also be added to our literacy centers to help students with their sight words and letter recognition.
