The children in my class are part of an urban school that consists of a very diverse population of economically and socially challenged children. I have served many classes of children and the needs are consistent with the children that I teach. With the lack of effective and efficient materials it poses a gap and lessens the ability to close and engage children for a good educational experience to reach their potential.
The only way the children in my class will have a fair start is to be able to have a chance to be exposed to literacy and learn how to read.
My Project
The children in my classroom will have exposure to materials that will help them learn to read and build a love for literacy. They will have the opportunity to use books that will encourage and motivation beginner readers. These materials will also provide hands-on opportunities for children to learn with.
When the children have the same privileges' as other children who have had a head start in learning and exposure to basic literacy skills then they will have all that it takes to learn how to succeed in whatever they desire from literacy.
