My Project
As a special education teacher in a second-grade classroom, I strive to create a learning environment where all students can succeed—especially those who need additional support with reading and language. Many of my students are English Language Learners (ELLs) and visual learners who learn best when they can see and hear new concepts. That’s why I’m requesting a 24-inch iMac all-in-one desktop computer to bring reading instruction to life in our classroom.
The iMac will allow me to present phonics and blending lessons through engaging videos and animations, display stories with vivid images, and integrate picture-supported language instruction that helps students build vocabulary and comprehension.
Visual learning tools are essential for my students, who often struggle to connect spoken words with printed text. When they can see the story, they begin to truly understand it.
In addition to daily instruction, the iMac will be used for students to practice reading skills using Istation, a research-based program that tracks progress and adjusts lessons based on each student's needs. With reliable access to this technology, my students can work toward improving their Istation scores while building essential reading skills at their own pace.
