This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom is a room full of 27 brilliant scholars who are brimming with curiosity and a love for learning. However, my 27 Kindergarteners all learn in very different ways. My students are each unique and need unique and differentiated instruction to help them succeed and end at the same goal.

My students commute from all five boroughs in New York City.

My students have different languages that they speak, prior knowledge, and cultures that they bring to the classroom. However, one thing that they all have in common is that they come to school each and everyday ready to learn and question the world around them.

My Project

The materials requested will help my students literacy skills increase dramatically. A cassette player in the listening center will allow us to finally listen to our audio books. It will help those students who are emergent readers gain confidence and develop an even greater love for reading. The iPad with protective case will allow my students who learn best through the use of technology to access the material. Apps will be downloaded to support students will literacy difficulties. It will be used in our learning centers. Finally, the book baggies will allow students to safely transport books between school and home so that they may continue to practice reading outside of the classroom.

The donations of the iPad with a protective case, cassette player, and book baggies will make a world of a difference for my young scholars!

My students will be able to continue to develop a passion for reading and become strong readers. The impact of this donation will reach far beyond Kindergarten, as my students will take the skills into the grades beyond all because they had the tools and materials they needed to be successful!
