My Students
I work in a New York City Title I middle school where every student receives free lunch. It is a great school where some students travel from far away just to be able to attend. My students are special education students, most of whom are English Language Learners. They are really great kids who love to learn. My students are hardworking, curious learners that need access to a variety of texts that will capture their interest and prepare them.
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they'll have what they need to organize their daily writing pieces. These practice journals will help foster reading and writing among my students from various backgrounds. Writing is a crucial component of the curriculum so having the proper materials puts them one step closer to improving their writing skills.
Through this project, I can provide students with the necessary learning aids that will support their individual needs, while helping them grow as independent learners.
My students currently look forward to reading and writing every day and I want to nurture that love!
