This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located in the heart of South Los Angeles. My students are often exposed to gang violence, poverty, and broken homes. However, none of this stops them from trying their best.
My students are in 4th grade and in a Spanish Dual Language Program.
Despite the many hardships my students face daily, they attend school with smiles on their faces. My students are eager to learn and work hard at being their personal best!
My Project
Please help me introduce my students to holiday classics like The Polar Express. My students love reading and enjoy listening to a good read aloud. These books will foster the love of reading and build my students' vocabulary.
My students need classic high-interest books to celebrate the holidays.
I am requesting high interest book to spark the joy of learning. Many of my students are English Language Leaners and build their English vocabulary by listening to stories. Many of my students are also struggling readers and would benefit greatly from high interest books. A good book always brings a smile to my students' face.
