Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My ELL students are always eager to learn, especially during our phonics blocks! The students that I work with are English Language Learners (ELLs), I've printed many visuals for beginning and ending sounds. However, I strongly believe that my students would benefit in using the sound boxes. With the aid of the sound boxes, my ELL students will not only get to hear the sounds, but also see the sounds. This will help students feel the real-world connection, and thus strengthening their phonemic awareness skills.
My students in kindergarten and first grade adore when we use the whiteboards and practice our phonemic awareness skills!
With how often we use the whiteboards, I've realized that many of our markers are slowly running out of ink! A lot of our erasers are coming apart, so with the your help- I can give my students new markers and erasers to practice our writing and forming CVC words!
