Help me give my students high interest books to jump start their home libraries.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Brier's classroom raised $414
This project is fully funded
My Project
One of the most amazing things about a library is that you can borrow any book, read, return, and repeat. Our students are becoming stronger readers who are learning to value reading for learning and pleasure. We hope we are fostering lifelong readers.
We need to refill our supply of high-interest books to give to students for their home libraries.
We do this in many ways, but one of the favorite means for students is through our book vending machine. We acquired this amazing machine in a previous Donors Choose project. Students earn tokens for good behavior and academics, and select a book of their choice to keep. Often, the books are swamped and shared among friends. Students show pride in taking a book home to keep. It isn't easy to keep the vending machine stocked, and we are running low on great books. We want to get many more books into students' hands before the summer.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
