Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a community of young learners, including English language learners and students with special needs, that love coming to school and learning through play. Many of my TK students are experiencing in-person schooling for the first time this year. I have seen so much growth in their language development and ability to share and play with others.
Pretend play and drawing are favorite activities in our classroom, which help tremendously with language and social development.
I love listening to their conversations as they play and draw. We are a diverse community and I believe it is important to have that represented in the materials available in our classroom.
I know my students will love the addition of the Duplo people to our block area, as well as having crayons that allow them to represent everyone’s uniqueness.
