Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work to build strong language and communication skills in a wide range of students who have various degrees of abilities. In my group sessions, I often play games or center tasks around a hands-on activity. When children are physically engaged in a play with toys, a game, or manipulatives, they develop greater neural connections making it more likely that the focus of the lesson will be retained and meaningful to the child. Language concepts and social nuances of communication can be demonstrated effectively through play tasks and games where children can learn from each other while being exposed to correct language/communication models. With a variety of materials and tools, my students will be able to participate in our session tasks, at their individual levels, with excitement and increased engagement. My students need magnets, sequencing verb tense, laminator, board games, metaphor and simile games, idioms fun deck, and more.
