This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a Pre-K class consisting of 18 adorable, fun loving, energetic, and eager to learn four year olds. For my class project, “Building Language and Cultural Awareness In Pre-K,” I am asking for multicultural puppets and animal puppets. These materials will positively affect my students' learning because they will be able to build their fine motor skills.
The fine movement required to wear a puppet helps with dexterity and using fingers to manipulate the puppet.
Also, using puppets can help my students internalize language patterns, enhance listening skills, develop risk-taking skills and student confidence, and provide opportunities for students to work cooperatively as a group.
Therefore, there are many benefits to having puppets in my class dramatic play center. I hope you agree and will help make this addition possible!
